I found two blank wood canes at a local pharmacy. Unfortunately, these were the last of this model and all of the remaining canes were either metal or synthetic wood canes. I’ve look all over the internet and other stores and have not found this model of cane anywhere else.
When starting with fresh cut sticks it is best to cut them in the fall to winter time after they have gone dormant. Strip all of the bark down to the white wood.
WARNING: Know your surroundings. Watch out for predators, bears, large animals, and snakes. If you don’t know the area, contact someone who does.
Start with carving a wood spirit approximately 4 inches down from the top of the cane.
Use the air powered engraver to cut the pattern lines of the tree and branches starting at the base of the cane.
Carve in the tree branches and texture the branches and background.
Coat the cane with two coats of polyurethane to complete the process.
